Just a Reminder About Medications...

Most of us already know this.  On a social network this morning, a person mentioned having a certain health issue.  One of her friends recomended that she take one kind of prescription drug with another drug.  PLEASE DON'T DO THIS unless you have consulted with your medical doctor or pharmacist FIRST.  Some mixtures of drugs can not only be nasty but they can also KILL the patient taking them!  There is a reason why doctors and pharmacists go to school so long.

Seuss-a Palooza

Earlier I mentioned this on my blog.  This fun will be on tap on Saturday, March 2nd, in Tribune.  All proceeds for the green ham (and biscuits and gravy) breakfast, silent auction and movie tickets for the morning mattinee of HORTON HEARS A WHO will be used for the Star Theatre.  The mattinee tickets will cost $4.00 for everyone from 4-years-old through adulthood.  Children, 3 and younger, will not require a ticket.

If you have any empty oatmeal containers that you are not using, please let me know.  They are needed for the fun day.  Please call or text me at 620.375.8033.

A different movie will be playing that evening.  I will be posting that information soon.

Thank you for your kind support!!!

Farm Consignment Sale

Don't forget that this will be this Saturday, March 2nd, at the Community Building in Leoti.  Leighyn's Class of 2016 and their parents will be in charge of lunch and snacks that day.  Each student is responsible for furnishing a case of pop, one pie and a bag of chips.  Those items are to be taken to Mrs. Niswonger's classroom at WCJ/SHS or to the LadyBug Flower Shop in Leoti.  All of these things will be taken to the Community Building that morning.  We will be serving lunch and refreshments to anyone interested.  You need not be there to sell or buy the equipment, etc. The public is invited just to eat if they want to!   All proceeds from our food sales will be used for such things as prom and graduation for the members of Leoti's Class of 2016.

Thank you for your support!!!

My Blog

Many of you have been asking why I have not been writing on my blog lately  The answer is that I've been very busy lately.

1.  Stan and I started more kitchen renovations on our new home a short while ago.

2.  I've been doing some painting on Abigayle's bedroom furniture.

3.  I've begun writing a book.  (Actually two books.)

I do plan on blogging again as soon as things slow down a bit so please don't give up on me!  LOL!!!

If you want me to post something for you, please send an email to

Update on Heart Transplant Patient

A few weeks ago, I asked for prayers for a teenaged boy who was going to undergo a total heart transplant.  The young man lives in Colcord, Oklahoma where many children including kids from Wichita County, go to a Christian camp, New Life Ranch.

I just received an email fom NLR.  Our prayers are being answered.  The young man, Zach, is doing remarkably well.  He will not be released to go home for at least two months.  If you would like to send a contribution of any size to help the family, please go to

Special Treats!

Various classes sponsor meals at the WCJ/SHS ballgames to raise money for such things as prom and graduation activities.  The Class of 2016 will be in charge of the meal at the high school for Tuesday evening's basketball game when Stanton County (Johnson) comes to town.  Stan and I are getting ready to make up some good ol' homemade chicken and noodles for that evening.  Good old fashioned chili will also be on the menu that night.  Others will be putting burritos that will be smothered in green chili together!  Not into noodles, chili or burritos?  Not a problem!  Hot dogs, macho nachos, popcorn, candy, soft pretzels and pop will also be available.  The only prices that I have right now are for the noodles and burritos with green chili.  Each will be sold for $5.00.  If you don't have time to watch the games, you can still buy the food.  The Class of 2016 appreciates your support!!!
