Johnnie Zimbelman--Leoti and Scott City

(January 11, 1927 - January 26, 2011)


Johnnie Zimbelman, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on January 11, 1927 in Goodland, Kansas, the son of John H. and Martha Miller Zimbelman. In 1970 he moved from Sharon Springs, Kansas to Leoti, Kansas until February of 2007 when he moved to Scott City, Kansas.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Lions Club both of Leoti, Kansas, and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

On July 26, 1953 he married Phyllis Eckert in Goodland, Kansas. She passed away on June 19, 2009 in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include his One Son - Michael & Mary Zimbelman of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Susan Zimbelman of San Jose, California, One Sister - Gladys Lampe of Sonnyville, California and Two Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, One Brother and Two Sisters.


Memorial Services will be held at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 with Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City or Leoti.

There will be no calling times.
