Have you driven behind the former Junior High this week? If not, you ought to. What you'll see is brand new playground equipment for the new grade school that doubles as large pieces of art. I have never seen anything like it! As of last night, there were 3 pieces but I have heard that there is more to come. One piece is just a really nice swing set. The other two pieces consist of several different options from monkey bars to jungle gyms. I've been told that when all equipment is put into place, it is to look like a small group of dinosaurs. Kids are gonna love that!
The school has wrapped each piece with caution tape so please do not allow your children to play on it yet.
This is the first time that I can remember students looking forward to school starting for the next year even before summer vacation has begun! LOL!!!
The school has also planted many trees at the north end of that playground. I think that they are cedars. This tree row will serve to keep snow drifts down.
The grass in the playground is just beautiful! For the past month or so, many area kids have enjoyed playing soccer on it.
