A good friend of mine who speaks Spanish fluently helped me speak to our neighbor whose husband was killed in the car wreck earlier this month. As of today, the lady is pleased that with the donations from people, they have been able to pay their November bills. Of course, December is just around the corner so she is concerned now with getting those paid.
The family is so EXCITED about the new bunkbeds that our great friends are giving to them!!!They are so happy that they will no longer be snuggling up on a hard cold floor at night! Someone else gave them a kitchen stove which they are very appreciative of.
The children could really use some clothes for Winter. They do NOT have to be new. as the old saying goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure." The older I get, the more life experience that I have, the more I realize just how true that really is...
The baby is nine-months-old now. She is already wearing clothes for 12-month-olds.
The only boy is 3-years-old but he is big for his age. He wears size 6's.
The older daughter is 5-years-old. She wears size 7-8.
Anyone who has bought diapers and/or diaper wipes lately, knows that they are not cheap especially when they are bought continuosly. They could definitely use some if you're interested in getting them some. Toilet paper, laundry soap, dishsoap is always needed also.
As of right now, they have enough food for a couple of weeks.
If you want to give the family Christmas gifts, I would suggest that if you speak Spanish that you go to speak with the wife during the schoolday when the older kids are not at home. If you need my friend to translate, please let me know. The neighbor told my friend today that she is very concerned that her kids will not have any gifts.
Thank you very much for anything that you can do!!! PLEASE keep sending up prayers for the family!!!
