As you know, I've been spending more time in clinics and hospitals than I like to lately. LOL!!! In one treatment room the other day, I came across a couple of posters, one written in English and the other in Spanish, of course. URGGHH... I found their message to be quite important and so I want to pass this information on to you. I was so thrilled to be able to nurse Leighlyn for her first year but was unable to breast-feed Abigayle because of my heart surgery that was done 5 weeks after she was born and the medications that I would be on for the rest of my life.
"Breastmilk--a babies first protection against disease."
Protects TODAY against
1. Flu viruses
2. Diarrhea
3. RSV--a serious disease that can result in death
4. Ear infections
Protects TOMORROW against
1. Obesity
2. Diabetes
3. Heart diseases
4. Cancers
So, if you or someone you know is considering having a baby, remember this information.
