This morning, bright beautiful sunshine not only took it's place in the sky, it also filled my heart. I have been very pleased with those of you who have taken precious time to contact me either through my blog comments, email or FACEBOOK! You got my new year headed in the right direction!
I will tell you that I am reconsidering my decision not to write my blog anymore. After my comments have been coming in, I am beginning to feel more like people DO read it and DO enjoy it. I just don't understand why the counter is practically motionless...
Last night, I was remembering back to 1999. Many people were forecasting that the end of the world would happen at 11:59 p.m on December 31st. People from all over the world were in a panic. They believed that there would be a major crisis because of the computers that so many of us depend upon every day would go on "hiatis". Remember all of that? I remember sitting in a restaurant just a few days into January. A group of us were discussing the whole thing. One local lady told everyone that she had heard of someone who took all of it as being totally "right on" so she went out, took all of her money out of her bank accounts and went on a spending fury. I hope that she enjoyed it! When she awakened on January 1st, 2000, she found that the world had not ended, the computers that run our world, were still running pretty much as normal as ever. Basically the only thing that changed was that she was now facing the world--penniless!!! Can you imagine just how awful she had to have been feeling???
Since then, another decade is GONE!!! I keep asking myself, WHERE DOES TIME FLY??? The older that I get, I notice that I am continuously getting slower. Time is totally different than me. It just keeps going faster and faster and ...
I wish you all the best and I promise to keep you updated on the future status of READ ALL ABOUT IT! Until later...

It just does not seem like 10 years since we welcomed the new millennium. Of course, at the time Rob was only 6; and Jessica wasn't born until a few days later...so I guess it really has been that long.

Your story about the lady reminds me of the group who were predicting, in the late 70's, that Christ would come on a certain day. Some members of that group actually went out and ran up their credit cards, etc. And, of course, it didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteA friend of dad's was a member of (or believed in) that group, though I don't know if he ran up his credit cards.
