I keep forgetting that many of my readers do not live in Wichita County so I need to write about environmental and natural goings ons here. This past week, we received rain off and on throughout 2 days. I am pleased that according to our rainguage, we received an inch of moisture. Great!
Grass is beginning to green up and leaf buds are beginning to emerge on tree branches. Of course, I have also seen fresh growth to something else that is not welcome around here--new weeds.
This upcoming week, I plan on giving the yard a good ol'cleaning! For some reason, during the winter months, wind and animals seem to bring a lot of trash into our yard. UGH!!! With my health concerns, I am not able to be outside much during the winter months to clean the yard.
Another thing that I plan on doing next week is cleaning out our pond and refilling it. Birds and neighborhood animals love to come over here and grab themselves a drink or two.
Also, a bit later on, I will be thinning out our irises. They're the old fashioned ones that only bloom once a year. If you're interested in any of them, please let me know. I have many colors. I also have morning glories that you can have. They are blue, pink and purple. By the way, if you have any plants or bulbs that you may wish to share, please let me know.
Spring, here we come!!!
