If you happened to be in Tribune this morning, Thursday, April 8th, you may have been aware that a very old building was saying its final farewell to its town. The former Nutt building was torn down today so that it's new owners could expand their yard back to the alley that seperated the antique building from Sacks 5th Avenue.
The destruction took more than two hours to be completed. In recent years, the building had become an eye sore in town. People were concerned that the wind might blow it away some time.
In case you are not aware of where it once stood, the concerned block is the same where Tribune's Star Theatre is located. So, the building was just 1/2 block west of the main street in town.
The people who had bought it, live on the southwest corner of the block. Recently, they have remodelled and built on to their home. After the home expansion, there was little property left for a yard. This will add a considerable amount of property to their yard and should suit them well!
Just out and about...
