Leighlyn and Abigayle just returned from another day of school. Both came home with lots of conversation on things that happened today. I am always so very happy to learn of their days happenings.
Last week, Leighlyn was elected onto STUCO as vice president of the 7th grade class. We are so proud of her for this accomplishment! When I was still going to school, I was never elected to any post until high school when I was elected to be the assistant editor for our school newspaper and then on the invitation committee for junior/senior prom. Today was their first meeting for the 2010-2011 school year. One of the most important things that they needed to do was set up tentative dates for their junior high dances. She told me what 4 Friday evenings were selected. Now, it is up to the school's officials to decide if those dates will work for everyone. I then remembered that parents of the junior high kids used to sponsor the dances. Or, maybe they never did. I don't know. It has been more than a couple of days since I was in junior high.
As soon as I mentioned parents being chaperones, she immediately let me know that parents do not do that anymore unless school teachers are unable to be there that particular evening. Of course I was disappointed. Leighlyn was not which really stabbed me through the heart. Always before, both girls have always wanted us to be involved in their activities both in and out of school. Hmmm...suppose the issue of taking off her shirt before her first boy/girl dance had something to do with that??? If you don't have the foggiest idea of what I am talking about, read a little further down on my blog. I posted another Blau moment earlier this morning. After you read it, you'll definitely understand why Leighlyn may not be overly anxious for me to be at the dances this year. LOL!!!

Lynn your children are growing up and they all think we make mistakes. They will eventional know that they are at your best interest. so don't let it get to you.

I just HATE how quickly they are growing up! It took 17 years for Leighlyn to get here and 21 for Abigayle to make her appearance. Why do they have to get big so fast? LOL!!! As you can see, you will NEVER hear me say anything to the nature that I am ready for them to move out and enter into adulthood. That really upsets me when I hear parents say things like that. My parents never said that about us and I won't say that about my three babies. Thank you for commenting! I just LOVE hearing from my friends!!! VLE-B
