I have been going through things at home trying to delete as much as possible. I came across the poem and wanted to share it with you. Believe me! This is NOT going into the trash pile!!!
A couple of years ago, without being told to by teachers, Leighlyn, who was about 10-years-old, sat down and wrote a poem about her little sister, Abigayle, who was 6 at the time. Leighlyn was asked to read what she had written for her class. It started a chain of more poetry that also resulted in being shared with her class.
Be Careful
If you should ever meet a little sister of mine
Don't tell her shes nine
Ignore her talking
Look out for her walking
For she will bite
She will give a fright
And when you meet a little sister of mine
She's a scary one, that sister of mine.
Signed,
A proud mother
