Sherlyn R. “Sherry” Scott, age 63, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on September 8, 1947 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Clarence and Wanda J. Ekart Billinger. A resident of Kalvesta since 1977, she had been the owner and operator of Gray County Abstract until 2003.
She attended the United Methodist Church of Kalvesta, Kansas, where she was currently serving as church treasurer. She was a member of the Kansas Legal Professionals and the Finney County Fair Board.
On June 3, 1967 she married Larry D. Scott in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Other Survivors Include: A son, Nathan K. Scott of Garden City, KS; Her mother, Wanda J. Billinger of Garden City, KS; A sister, Patrice A. Billinger-Jacob of Huntington, TX; A brother, Terry Billinger of Garden City, KS; and Nine grandchildren, Jordan B., Paige N. & Caitlin N. Partin, Macklin D., Ethan S., & Ian M. Crone, Elizabeth O. Cockes, Emily D. & Ronald “Alex” Scott.
She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Jennifer Louise Crone.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday September 20, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. Larry Danforth presiding. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
The family requests memorials be given to the Sherry Scott Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
