Almost 2 years ago, approximately 2 dozen parents from around Leoti were asked to attend a meeting with Dr. Hardy at the school board office. All of us discussed the pros and cons of extending the school district's bussing to a few stops within the city limits. The pros greatly outdid the cons. A short time later, bus stops were erected in town. When the busses return to Leoti in the mornings, they go to their assigned stop and pick up the kids waiting there. After school, before the busses return to the country, the town kids are dropped off at their neighborhood's stop. It works great!
One of the bus stops is located in our front yard. Today, almost 2 dozen kids boarded the bus for school.
I'd like to thank Superintendant Jim Hardy and the school board for allowing this service! Before, many kids had to walk to school in all kinds of weather. Definitely not a good thing!
If you have a child who lives in Leoti and could benefit from this service, please call the USD office at 375-4677 for all of the details.
