Everette Pritchard passed away at the Wichita County Medical Center on September 05, 2009 at the age of 77. He was born on January 7th, 1932 in Oklahoma. He married Margaret Snider in Leoti on June 5th, 1955.
He is survived by Margaret, son, Larry Pritchard of Stillwater, OK, daughter, Lori Butler of Stillwater, OK, daughter Suellen Pritchard of Spokane, WA and daughter and son-in-Law, Leah and Rodney Ames of West DesMoines, IO, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 5 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and an infant son.
His memorial service will be held at 2:00 cst at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti on Tuesday, September 8th. His body has been cremated. His ashes will be scattered in a private scattering with family at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home of Leoti.

A Prayer for a Cowboy
This wonderful poem was included in Lee Nathan Riddiough's memorial program. I found it to be very touching and just perfect for our loved one, Lee Nathan.

We are sorry for this cowboy
who has gone to somewhere higher,

After the funeral, Lee Nathan's horse was saddled with his hat on the saddle horn and his boots were placed backwards in the stirrups. The horse just stood in the cemetary. Beautiful.

Sherry St. John-Fry
A friend of mine shared this information with me. I am now passing it on to you.
Sherry Fry, a former resident of Leoti, passed away on September 4, 2009. Her parents were Albert and Rosalie (Spade) St. John. She was born on January 17th, 1943 in La Junta, Colorado. Sherry graduated from high school in Leoti. She lived in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, California and Nebraska before she settled in Estes Park, Colorado in 1978. During her lifetime, she worked in the Department of Agriculture, banks and front desks of several motels in Branson, Mo., and Estes Park.
Survivors include her husband, Steve, and son, Lance Fry, both of Estes Park, her brother, Don St. John of Leoti, and several nieces and nephews. A host of friends from around the country will also miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later time at the Overlook Ranch in Estes Park.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Estes Valley in care of Allnutt Funeral Service; 1302 Graves Ave.; Estes Park, Colo., 80517.

Ron Blau--Update on 09/05/09
Stan, Leighlyn, Abigayle and I traveled to Hays to visit with Ron, Pam, Josh and Chelsee today. We really enjoyed our time together!
Currently, Ron is unable to return to work. He is still weak but is getting better little by little. Pam, had double knee replacements done this year also. Her knees are healing better now but neither, Pam or Ron, is as well as they would like to be. Fortunately, Josh and Chelsee are both working and attending college in Hays so they are able to help out tremendously.
Ron has changed his mind about the chemo and radiation. He has decided that he WILL do both. Fortunately, he can take his chemo via pill now. Most people are not having the nausea and other related side effects from the older chemo. Fortunately, much research has been done to conquer cancer over the years. I believe that with every passing day, we are much closer to the cure.
Daddy passed away on April 29, 1995 from lung cancer that spread to his brain, and then to his liver and went throughout his whole body. Because of his decision to donate his body to the KU Medical Center for cancer research and for the many other people who have chosen to do that, many other lives will be spared. His brother, Lewis, donated his body approximately a year earlier for the same reason and also at KU. They did their part to help keep other people and their family and friends from having to go through this horrible disease.
Since then, Stan's parents donated their bodies to KU. Neither of them had cancer so their bodies could be used for research for things such as diabetes, etc., etc. Personally, I suffer from two diseases that are incurable at this time--Tachasus and Giant Cell Arteritis. (The spelling may be incorrect.) Between the two of them, aneurisyms are formed which if not detected and removed immediately, will cause certain death. That is why I now have a mechanical heart valve. It is because of the donation of bodies that research has come that far to construct mechanical heart valves or to use animal valves. Consequently, I have signed paperwork for my body to be donated. I wholeheartedly advise others to do the same thing.
Anyway, I apologize for getting off of the subject of Ron. I just wanted to show you that doctors now have more capability than ever to save many more lives. Most importantly, God guides the hands and tools of doctors to help Him produce miracles. Please, continue to keep Ron and his family in your prayers as Ron will hopefully begin radiation and his chemo next week.

Dennis Elder--Update 09-05-09
Dennis' planned surgery went well yesterday, Friday, Sept 4th. Later in the day, his blood pressure and blood counts dropped. He was taken back into surgery to find and repair the blood leaks in his chest cavity. Once inside, the doctor found some blood clots from the first surgery. She promptly removed them and cleaned everything up. These blood clots happen alot in this particular operation. Since then, his vitals have returned to normal. Some pieces of his esophagus were sent to the pathologist for biopsies, etc. Those results should be to the doctor on Monday or Tuesday. The doctor and Susan are pleased with how Dennis is looking and doing now. He is also receiving extra plasma and calcium right now.
Dennis and Susan are VERY grateful to the people who are taking time out of their busy schedules to call, text, email or send cards to them. Zim Daniel Clark
We are so very happy for the Kevin and Theresa Clark family!!! God blessed them with a gift that only God can arrange. A little boy named Zim Daniel was born on August 14th! The very happy brothers and sisters who welcomed him to the clan were Ashley Marie Simons, Makenna, Jacob and Joshua. This little fella' weighed in at 6 lbs-6 ozs.
Grandparents who have anxiously awaited for this wonderful day are Dan and Twilla Nickelson and Dick and Kay Clark. All of Leoti.
Maybe it's just something that I believe but I'm going to toss it out there anyway. Kevin and Theresa went childless for YEARS. Stan and I know just how painful that is since we, too, had to wait for 17 years to have our first baby. Anyway, along the journey in their marriage, they found alot of love to shower all over Makenna, Jacob and Joshua. Kevin, Teresa, Ashley, Makenna, Jacob and Joshua have created such a wonderful happy family. Now, Zim has been sent to be the cherry on top of their cake.
It seems to us that God rewarded Kevin and Theresa with their own baby because of everything that they have done to provide a very happy home for the three children whom God brought to them later in their lives.
