George T. Gruver, age 98, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on May 22, 1912 in Wallace, Kansas the son of Jesse E. and Isabelle Duff Gruver. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas he was a farmer and teacher.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas.
On July 25, 1936 he married Opal Evelyn French in Scott City, Kansas. She died November 20, 2003 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Three Sons Clifford (& Pat Gruver of Topeka, Kansas, Alan (& Debbie) Gruver of Scott City, Kansas and Stan (& Pam) Gruver of Scott City, Kansas; One Daughter LaDonna (& Alan) Antenen of Wichita, Kansas; Ten Grandchildren and Twenty-Six Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death a daughter, Aletha Jean Gruver, two brothers, Clifford and Cecil Gruver and one sister, Esther Rose.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Park Lane Nursing
