More MRSA Information From a Reader

I received the following information from a reader named Donald. I found his infomation especially important so I want to pass it on to you now.

"It is not easy to fight MRSA infection. For each particular case must determine the best mixture of two or more antibiotics and then hope for the best.

The more information that we share is greater likelihood that the research progresses faster."

Donald also included a wonderful website at the bottom of his comment. I recommend that each and every one of you click on it and read it in it's entirety. I will post part of the information that I got from it, here.

Symptoms to look for:
* Abscesses (pockets of pus under the skin)
* Boils (hair follicle infection)
* Cellulitis (infection of the deep layer of the skin)
* Styes (infection of the eyelid)
* Impetigo (skin infection that produces blisters--HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS)
* Carbuncles (large pus-filled lumps under the skin)

A wound that is infected with MRSA will become red, swollen, tender with yellow pus seeping from it.

Pressure ulcers and other skin ulcers show exactly where the infection is. TAKE CARE OF ANY BURNS, CUTS, SPOTS OR BITES. Call your doctor IMMEDIATELY if a wound becomes infected.

The MRSA can invade your blood stream which can cause problems in almost every part of your body.
* Severe joint problems

* Abscesses deep within the body

* Septic shock (severe joint problems that are widespread)

* Blood infection will lead to a fall in blood pressure and organ failure:

1. Blood poisoning
2. Bone marrow infection
3. Meningitis
4. Infection of the lung lining
5. Pneumonia
