It is easy to see that Fall has arrived here. Late this evening, the girls and I delivered some goodies to our son and daughter-in-law in Scott City. Just on the western edge of Scott City, lies a small pond. Through the years, many trees have grown around the pond and touched the sky. In the Spring, it always refreshing to drive past this area and see the new baby leaves emerging all over the treetops. Though that is beautiful, I think that they really show off in the Fall. Those green leaves have now turned into various shades of yellows and oranges.
Many trees in Western Kansas have no leaves that turn into these beautiful hues. For example, our elm trees' leaves go from green to brown overnight practically. The next day, they drop to the ground below. It is such a joy to see the many different colors by that pond.
If you happen to live in the Scott County area, I recommend that you make a trip out just to see this scene and to thank the Good Lord for His artistry.
