Mary A. Salinas - Leoti
(September 17, 1941 - October 27, 2010)
Mary A. Salinas, 69, passed away October 27, 2010 at the Rio Grande Inn in La Jara. Mary was born September 19, 1941 in Ordway, Colorado the daughter of Louie Jim Salinas and Carmen Medina Salinas. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, embroidering, crafts, she was an avid bronco’s fan and enjoyed the time she spent with her loving family and with her great nieces and nephews. Survivors include her siblings Frank Salinas of Scott City, KS; Juanita Phythian- Cisneros (Abel) of Sanford, CO; Carmen Salinas (Theodore Shavers) of De Kalb, TX; Joe Salinas (Pauline Taylor) of Tom, OK; Elizabeth (Angel) Rivas of De Kalb, TX; two half brothers Ruben (Julie) Salinas of Albuquerque, NM; Louie (Donna) Salinas of North Carolina. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and aunts, uncles and cousins of Leoti, KS. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother Phillip Louie Salinas. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary was held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Another Rosary will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Leoti, KS. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM also at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, KS. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Rio Grande Inn (39 Calle Miller, La Jara CO. 81140).
