Kids For Sale???

Growing up the child of a school teacher really did some things to me. Good things...not bad. Through the years, my sisters and I were taught that we really needed to take time out to proof read any reports, etc that we wrote. We were also encouraged to spell words correctly or don't write them at all! LOL!!!

So, today, Lori, Lona Sue and I are probably a bit more sensitive to grammatical and spelling issues than others. Hmmm. I don't necessarily think that that is such a bad thing.

For instance, when we recently made a trip through Scott City, we noticed a sign outside of a popular business in town. In the area reserved for that business to advertise sales, etc., someone had misspelled the word "world". According to their spelling, the name used to describe our planet, etc., WORLD was spelled W--O--L--R--D. Of course, for someone like me, it made the hair, or hairs, (depending on where in the U.S. you happen to live) on my back stand straight out and poke through my shirt.

Then today, I was giving my nephew, Lars, a ride through Leoti. We happened to go through the 4-way stop in town. Out of habit, I glanced at the "Welcome to Leoti" sign on one of the corners there. Various organizations, institutions, etc leave messages on the board to alert everyone of different events in town, etc. But, today, someone had put a sign used to advertise a sale right below the sign for all to see. Now, this sign had been PROFESSIONALLY made so we should expect words to be spelled correctly, good grammer, etc, right? I would think that that would not be too much to ask for. Now, I am going to write for you, word by word, what this sign said. And, by the way, all of the words were spelled perfectly.

"HUGE KIDS SALE"

Is this sale something that people who are interested in adopting kids should attend??? If so, what happened to all of the not-so-huge kids??? Had they already been sold out??? LOL!!!

I am sure that what this sign was advertising was a very large sale of things that kids might be interested in.

Anyway, just two observations that I thought you might get a kick out of!

Have a grate day!!! (LOL!!!)
