We spent much of Wednesday with Lori. She was doing better than earlier this week but still has far to go. Her blood must reach a thin level of 2.0-3.0 before she can be released to go home. They hope that it will be that thin by the end of the week. Lori is very strong normally. Since she became so sick, her strength has lessened tremendously. Her doctors have begun physical and occupational therapy on her now. She will continue this once she gets home until she is doing very well as she was before she became ill. She continues to receive Heparin shots (for blood-thinning very quickly) and Coumadin (for blood thinning) in her IV bottle. Once she reaches her optimum level, she will be switched to Coumadin that she will take by mouth daily as I do.
Thank you so very much for your prayers and thoughts!!!
