Scott City's Bakery Cakery

A couple of weeks ago, I recommended that you call Julie Faurot if you are in the market for a beautiful cake for any occassion or event. We ordered a birthday cake from Julie for my sister, Lori, and our daughter-in-law, Mel, for their respective birthdays. Lori's was on the 28th and Mel's was today, October 2nd.

I ordered one 11" x 15" cake that was white on one half and strawberry on the other half. I asked Julie to decorate it any way that she wanted to. Since both of these very important people in my life have Fall birthdays, I suggested that she might implement some flowers with Fall colors. We drove to Scott City yesterday afternoon to pick the cake up and to pick up another birthday cake that Julie had baked and decorated for another party in Leoti.

Julie opened the cake boxes so that we could see both works of artistry. Mercy me! Our cake was so very elegant! Flowers were "arranged" in two or three corners of the white frosting which had been placed on the cake in ONE SHEET! This was not your run of the mill frosting that you apply with a spatula or butter knife. Unbelievable!!! She had used beautiful writing to add the names, Lori and Mel, to the cake.

The other party's cake was for a child. It was a Mickey Mouse and was he ever adorable!!! I am sure that this cake thrilled their party as much as ours did us!

Now, when it all comes to food, presentation is a major portion of the whole package but if it doesn't taste good, you know that you do not want to buy that food again.

Well, our critique of our cake was 5 stars!!! The cake was moist and very uniform. Everyone commented on the wonderful flavor and the tenderness of the cake.

I've already ordered a birthday cake for Leighlyn on November 13th. Lori and I ordered a Christmas cake. Lori will be calling Julie this next week to order a birthday cake for Leif and Lars who share the same birthday--December 5th. (Don't tell anyone this!!! My birthday is October 29th. Maybe someone will order me some Faurot Artisty, as well!!!)

I want to give you Julie's information again in case you may have missed the earlier post. By the way, Julie needs any cake orders for the month of December BEFORE December 1st!

You can reach Julie at her home: 620-872-2593 or on her cellphone: 620-214-0901. Her email address is jjfaurot@sbcglobal.net .

Thank you VERY much, Julie!!!
