A new project

Last night, I updated all of you on what all we have managed to complete. As of this morning, Stan has finished everything except for wiping on sealer which will just take a very few minutes and hooking up the other set of under cabinet lights on the second set of cabinets. Walla! He will be completely finished except for building the pots and pans cabinets which he is putting off until April. He definitely needs and deserves a break!!!

As for me, I still have to apply another layer of polyurethane to all of the cabinets. Plus, currently our kitchen and dining room are painted in a soft green which we have REALLY enjoyed. Originally, we thought that it would look great with the new tile. We were mistaken on that one. As soon as we started hanging the tile on the backsplashes, we began seeing A LOT of reds in it. Now, with it all hung, it is very easy to see that it does not coordinate at all with the new tile. So...today, we are going to Garden City to purchase the three bikess. While we are there, we are picking up a couple of gallons of a real soft golden yellow paint. Ordinarily, I love pairing greens and reds in the same room. Our dining room had the green walls and vivid red curtains. (They are opposite of each other on the color wheel which means that they highlight each other.) So what went wrong in this case? The reds in the tile are very dark and the green is very light so they just do not mix.

Years ago, when I began my love affair with paint, I started collecting the stores' paint chips so that I would have them on hand whenever we needed one or when our family and friends needed it. Stan is a MARVEL at choosing the perfect colors! As soon as he landed on this color, I was in total agreement with his choice!

Anyway, by tomorrow evening, all will be finished and put back together! What a wonderful feeling!!!
