Our house filled with smoke...

and lots of it, I might add. Earlier today, I told you that I have been sick. So sick that I have been unable to even cook. Thank goodness, Stan and Leighlyn really enjoy cooking!

Stan is at work today. Leighlyn volunteered to cook up some pancakes for breakfast which were great! For lunch, she offered to grill cheeses for all of us. Great--until the smoke began to roll not just filter through the rest of the house. I hurriedly made my way to the kitchen. I discovered that she had placed our favorite 2-burner grill onto the stove and had sprayed it with Pam before she placed grilled cheeses on it. Problem was that the burners were set at HIGH! Fortunately, only two sandwiches were burned. Immediately, she turned the gas down to a much better level. Eventually, the sandwiches were cooked, on the plates and delivered to the recipients. At first, mine looked great! That all changed when I FELT the bottom of the sandwich. It was hard and gritty. I tipped it over and found that it was just like CHARCOAL!

I asked her why she had gone ahead and served it to me like that. Her response was that she did not want to waste GOOD food. LOL!!! She decided that she could grill two more sandwiches for me. This time, both sides of the sandwiches were picture-perfect. She sure didn't overcook them this time. The cheese was still just like it was when she unwrapped it. Believe me, I did not complain. It was far better than her two original sandwiches! LOL!!!
