My personal opinion

Today's weather reminds me of my Daddy's, Pat Elder's, memorial service on May 1st of 1995. It was held at the Methodist Church in Leoti that morning. Even though the church is quite large, many people were unable to be indoors to say good-bye to him. People spilled out into the balcony, hallways, Sunday School classes, fellowship hall and even outside. Fortunately, a speaker system was in place so that all in attendance could listen to the services.

It was at that time that I realized that your funeral is evidence of whether or not you lived a good and successful life. If you were good to people and did all that you could to make life better for others, chances are that you will be honored with a good attendance to say good-bye.
