SCOTT CITY — Alan S. Kletecka, 69, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Anthony, to Edward and Sophia Catherine Seiler Kletecka.


On Nov. 19, 1976, he married Joyce D. McCoy Neely in Dighton. She died May 3, 2006. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bill Neely; two brothers, Alfred and Roger Kletecka; and two sisters, Irene Calsing and Helen Williams.

In 1974, Mr. Kletecka began driving trucks, first for Weathermaster Seeds and then B & L Trucking, retiring in 1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include three sons, Tom Neely of Scott City, Terry Neely of Carlsbad, N.M., and Rodney Kletecka of Wichita; three daughters, Becky Sutton and Melissa Brown, both of Wichita, and Pam Ingalls of Scott City; two brothers, Norman Kletecka of Los Angeles, and Lyman Kletecka of Junction City, Ariz.; two sisters, Grace Smith of Wichita, and Winona Gibson of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Dighton. Burial will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
