Ruby M. Kauffman--Garden City

(October 5, 1917 - January 20, 2011

Ruby M. Kauffman, age 93, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on October 5, 1917 in Lane County, Kansas the daughter of Arthur & Velma C. Downs Wallace. A resident of Garden City since 1943 moving from Hutchinson, Kansas she had worked as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Tech for St. Catherine Hospital for many years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, Kansas the AARP and the Finney County Senior Center. She volunteered at Fry Eye Associates and with several other local organizations.

On December 1, 1940, she married Hadley L. Kauffman in Garden City, Kansas. He died November 1, 1983 in Garden City, Kansas.

Survivors Include: One Daughter, Verla M. Reynolds of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; Two Sisters, Rosalee Malaby of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Mary K. Joseph of Garden City, Kansas; A Nephew, Charles Wallace of Garden City, Kansas; Nieces, Avis Wallace of Garden City, Kansas and Anita Wallace of Garden City, Kansas and Seven Grandchildren, Sixteen Great-Grandchildren and Eleven Great-Great-Grandchildren; And several other nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles, Harry & Hubert Wallace.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Brad Kirk presiding.

Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm Sunday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

The family requests memorials be given to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the Finney County Senior Center in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
