Slick Curbsides

I narrowly missed having what could have been the last accident of my life last night. Because of that, I want to warn each and every one of you!!!

Last evening, we needed groceries for tonight's tamale pie. Because of the ice, I have not been venturing away from home unless absolutely necessary. By last night, I was stir-crazy. Stan parked in front of Mel's. I got out of the van and headed towards the grocery store. Unfortunately, there is approximately a 2 foot section between the curb and the street that has not been scraped. I slipped on the ice. If it had not been for me landing against our vehicle, I would have very possibly been done for. (My blood has to be the thinnest that a human being can have so that it does not clot in my heart's mechanical valve. If I hit my head in any kind of accident, there is no way that I will survive. You might think that I am overdoing it a bit here but I assure you that I am not. Most of my specialists have told me the same thing. One even went so far as to say that if I had a doctor with me at the time, he could do nothing to save me.)

I did a quick look at the downtown area. Most locations are the same as at Mel's. I did notice that the employees of Dollar General have gone out and scraped their parking area as clean as possible in front of their store. It looked to me like they have also put out Ice Melt. So if you park there, you'll probably be fine. They have also done an amazing job of cleaning off at least the sidewalk area in front of their store. It looks like no snow ever landed there!

Anyway, the keywords here are BE CAREFUL!!! None of us need broken bones or anything worse than that!
