Darwin E. Bollinger, age 79, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on December 3, 1931 in Farmington, Illinois, the son of Kenneth E. and Agnes E. Lafferty Bollinger. He was a resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1954 moving from Wild Horse, Colorado. Darwin was a Corporal in the United States Marines, a farmer, mechanic and harvestor.
After Darwin’s military duty he worked in the agricultural field in Scott City, Kansas. After retiring he harvested with Rohrbough Harvesting, where he enjoyed his many travels and meeting new friends.
His memberships include the First Baptist Church and the Lake Scott Car Club of Scott City, Kansas.
On September 3, 1954 he married Velda Faye McDaniel at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas. She passed away on December 10, 2005 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include his Two Sons - Kenneth & Kris Bollinger of Scott City, Kansas, Ricky & Jeanine Bollinger of Garden City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Starla Bollinger of Garden City, Kansas, Marletta & Ron Wilson of Ingalls, Kansas, One Brother - Alan & Jane Bollinger of Scott City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Three Sisters – Minnie Rose Thurman, Sue Bollinger and Carolyn Pumfrey, and a step father – Leonard Yowell.
Funeral Services will beheld at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or Scott County Hospital CATS Channel % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
