Virginia L. Dearden--Scott City

(October 5, 1923 - July 9, 2011)

Virginia L. Dearden, age 87, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on October 5, 1923 in Hodgeman County, Kansas, the daughter of John Conrad & Lydia Litzenberger Daubert. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1931 moving from Hodgeman County, Kansas, she was a homemaker.

Her memberships include the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, EHU and the Senior Citizens Quilting Group of Scott City.

On February 17, 1942 she married Clifford M. Dearden in Scott City. He survives.

Survivors Include her Husband - Clifford Dearden of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Janet & Kirk Ottaway of Hays, Kansas, Three Granddaughters - Janelle Perryman of Kansas City, Missouri, Jill & Aaron Brantley of Ellsworth, Kansas, Jessica & Tod Hileman of Colby, Kansas, Seven Great Grandchildren - Hunter Perryman of Hays, Kansas, Scout Perryman of Kansas City, Missouri, Marshall Perryman of Kansas City, Missouri, Feyden Hileman of Colby, Kansas, Jude Hileman of Colby, Kansas, MaLaney Brantley of Ellsworth, Kansas and MaKinley Brantley of Ellsworth, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, One Daughter – Barbara Dearden, One Brother - Edward Daubert, and One Sister – Wilma Stephens.


Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 with Pastor Warren Prochnow presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas
