Emma Lou Cook--Leoti

(January 6, 1944 - December 25, 2011)

Emma Lou Dean Cook, age 67, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Wichita County Hospital in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on January 6, 1944 in Brighton, Colorado, the daughter of James Henry and Mary Frances Rogers Dean. She has be a resident of Wichita County, Kansas, since 1963, moving from Las Animas, Colorado. She was a homemaker, mother, wife, grandmother.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas.

On December 16, 1960 she married Roy L. Cook in Las Animas, Colorado. He survives.

Survivors Include her Husband - Roy L. Cook of Leoti, Kansas, One Daughter - Candace D. Brueschke of Longmont, Colorado, Three Sons - David L. Cook of Swathmore, Pennsylvania, Douglas K. Cook, of Spanway, Washington, Jason R. Cook, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Two Brothers - Tom F. Dean of Sarver, Pennslyvania, Mike L. Dean of Las Animas, Colorado, Thirteen Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, and Two Brothers, Sam Dean and Roger Dean.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.

Graveside Services will be held at the Bent County Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011.

Interment will be in the Bent County Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado.

Memorials may be given to the Wichita County EMT’s or Wichita County Hospital % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
