Maurice Duane Wikoff--Leoti and Hutchinson

(September 2, 1932 - December 7, 2011)

Maurice Duane Wikoff, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, Kansas. Maurice was born September 2, 1932 in Modoc, Kansas the son of Grant & Esther Beahm Wikoff. A lifetime resident of Wichita County, Kansas, he was a farmer/stockman retiring and moving to Hutchinson, Kansas in 2005. Maurice was a 1950 graduate of Wichita County High School in Leoti, Kansas and a 1954 graduate of Kansas State University. He earned the rank of Captain as a pilot serving in Labrador and Greenland for the United States Air Force following the Korean War. Maurice was currently attending the First Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson, Kansas and held membership at Christ Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas where he served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher. He served four terms as a Wichita County Commissioner from 1981 through 1989. On May 30, 1975 he married Barbara Enslow at South Hutchinson, Kansas. Maurice’s surviving family includes- His Wife- Barbara Wikoff- Hutchinson, Kansas Five Children- Diane & Rod Quinn- Fort Collins, Colorado Dan & Carla Wikoff- Manhattan, Kansas Lori & Sam Zachary- Hutchinson, Kansas Amy & Jeremy Rogers- Independence, Missouri Brett Wikoff- Manhattan, Kansas Eight Grandchildren- Stephanie & Mickey Zimmerman- Wamego, Kansas Brittani Wikoff- Wichita, Kansas Rachel Quinn- Colorado Springs, Colorado Danny Quinn- Fort Collins, Colorado Easton Rogers- Independence, Missouri Camden Rogers- Independence, Missouri Asher Zachary- Hutchinson, Kansas McCade Zachary- Hutchinson, Kansas Two great Grandchildren- BraeLynn Zimmerman- Wamego, Kansas Piper Zimmerman- Wamego, Kansas And one more on the way. His parents, a sister and her husband, Jacque & Warren Townsend preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Christ Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Bob Everest officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force Funeral Detail, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 pm Thursday and from 10:00 am through 8:00 pm Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas Memorials may be given to the Christ Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church or The American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
