Gordon R. Brantley--Scott City

(February 11, 1942 - December 26, 2011)

Gordon R. Brantley, age 69, passed away at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas on Monday, December 26, 2011. He was born on February 11, 1942 in Almena, Kansas, the son of Herbert K. and Wilma F. Walters Brantley. In May of 2011, he moved back to Scott City, Kansas.

He was a 1960 graduate of Scott Community High School in Scott City, Kansas and also graduated from Fort Hays University and from Kansas City Kansas Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science.

Gordon was the owner and operator of three funeral homes, in Atwood, Great Bend, and Dodge City during his career. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.

Survivors include his One Daughter - Sherri Brack of Great Bend, Kansas, One Son - Scott Brantley of Great Bend, Kansas, One Brother - Keen Brantley of Scott City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren - TeeJay Janousek of Great Bend, Kansas, Cayton Janousek of Great Bend, Kansas, Steele Brack of Great Bend, Kansas, Austin Brantley of Great Bend, Kansas and Gracie Brantley of Great Bend, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his Parents.

Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 with Pastor Arlen Ankle presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

Memorials amy be given to the Park Lane Nursing Home % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
