Ex-Wichita Countian Wins Special Award

This information was sent on to me this morning by a good friend so that it could be posted in my blog. I am only too happy to pass that on to all of you!

Roger Pearson, retired administrator of Ellsworth County Medical Center of Ellsworth, Kansas and currently working on special projects for Salina Regional Health Center, was awarded the Charles S. Billings Award by the members of the Kansas Hospital Association. He was honored on November 12th, 2009 during the Annual Convention and Trade Show in Wichita.

The Charles S. Billings Award, named after the association's first president, was created in 1971 to recognize distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the field of health care in Kansas.

After farming from 1965-1981, Pearson took his first hospital administrator position at Wichita County Hospital in Leoti. He also held similar positions in Ulysses and Iola before coming to Ellsworth in 1993.
