Wilma E. Janssen, age 89, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at her home in Scott County, Kansas. She was born on April 8, 1921 in Lorraine, Kansas, the daughter of August and Rose Janzen Wilkens. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Scott County since 1948 moving from Lorraine, Kansas.
She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She had been married to Homer Janssen for 56 ½ years before he died on January 7, 1996.
Survivors Include: Two Sons, Gary & Laylene Janssen of Scott City, Kansas and Brent Janssen of Austin, Texas; One Daughter, Sharon Janssen of Scott City, Kansas; One Brother, Harlan & Norma Wilkens of Hutchinson, Kansas; Seven Grandchildren, Nineteen Great-Grandchildren and Four Great-Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and a brother, Donald Wilkens.
Private Family Funeral Services will be held at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010
Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
The family requests memorials be given to the St. Catherine Hospice in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
