For the past two years, people have dug deeply into their pockets to help our family give Christmas gifts to local children who would not be having gifts without our help. I have given a great deal of thought to doing it again this year. Now that Wal-Mart has made Christmas layaway available again, I have decided that I will not promote Christmas Children this year. Parents have over two months to ready themselves for Christmas. Given the fact that people can start putting items on layaway at Wal-Mart starting on Monday, they should have ample time to get their gifts together for their children. In the past, we have helped a considerable amount of children. I have done some research on these families in the past couple of days. All of these families have at least one working parent now. I would not think that there would be any problem.
I want to thank each and every person out there who gave to these people!!! Without you, I could not have given nearly as much. It was always such a great feeling to deliver the brightly colored gift wrapped gifts to the parents.
