Lay Away for Christmas

Economic times are bad right now. I am sure that I am not telling you anything that you did not already know. For many people, this Christmas will be tough. Various companies around the nation recognize this fact and are doing something about it. Some are offering layaway to their customers for the first time ever. Others who had discontinued their layaway programs in the past are starting them again. Earlier I mentioned here that Wal-Mart was one such company. I just got more information a few minutes ago from a Wal-Mart associate and so I want to post it here for you.

Wal-Mart's Christmas layaway begins this Monday, October 17th, and will be available through Friday, December 16th.

There will be a $5.00 service charge per layaway.

You must have at least $50.00 worth of items to put on layaway. I did not hear anything about any maximum purchases.

When you make your layaway selections and take them to the service counter, you will need to make a 10% down payment at that time. After that, make payments of any amount whenever you can until December 16th.

Not everything is available for layaway at Wal-Mart. Toys, electronics and jewelry are available.

Because of layaways like this, MANY people will find gift purchasing A LOT easier than it would have been without layaway. I just want to say a big thank you to Wal-Mart and other companies who are offering this to tbeir customers! You make a difference!

I urge you to contact your local Wal-Mart store for more information.
