Upcoming Kansas Events

I just received this information from the Kansas Sampler Foundation. I am going to try to keep you posted on all of the great events that they follow all year long. Maybe you can get out and take in some of these happenings! Lynn

October 8, TALKING TOMBSTONES, Hutchinson
5:30 & 7:30 p.m. $15 per person. Tickets available at the cemetery or in advance at Hayes Sight and Sounds. This is a fundraiser for the Hutchinson Theatre Guild. Eastside Cemetery, 500 S. Cleveland.



October 15, PARTRIDGE PEDAL PARTY, Partridge
Many incredibly creative bicycle-themed events and decorations are found at the Pedal Party. Parade, unicycle hockey, challenging bike races. It's Kansacana at its best. See more information next week.


October 7-9, MOUNTAIN MAN RENDEZVOUS, at Maxwell Wildlife Refuge, Canton
Mountain men and women, primitive camps, traders, demonstrators, flintknappers.

October 9, WABAUNSEE COUNTY HISTORICAL TOUR
Stops include Captain Mitchell's 1865 barn, the 1860s Willig barn, the 1876 Mertz barn, the Wabaunsee Cemetery, the 1862 Beecher Bible and Rifle Church and the 1866 Rev. Harvey & Harriet Jones frame House.
RSVP to 785.765.3382. Bus will leave Alma at 12:30 and return by 5:30 p.m.


October 8, FALL FESTIVAL, Pioneer Bluffs, Chase County, 1 p.m. till dark
Music, hog roast, dedication of the new Rogler Prairie Heritage Center and an auction featuring everything from a Ferguson tractor to quilts!



NEW EVENTS


October 7, FRIDAY NIGHT JAM SESSION, Cottonwood Falls. SPECIAL! A film crew will be at the October 7 jam session. Start time will be 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chair or bring your instrument and be part of this special event in front of the downtown Emma Chase Cafe. Friday night is also the 12th anniversary of Friday night music at the Emma Chase Cafe!


October 8-16, FASHION THROUGH THE AGES exhibit
Chisholm Trail Museum, 205 N. Washington, Wellington. $5.
Come see a sampling of history's hottest fashions from late 19th century to 1960s.
