Western Hardware

Not long ago, I wrote a post on here about the many changes at Leoti's Western Hardware Store. I joined many others in being very impressed with everything that had already been done and the plans for more upcoming work and new products. Yesterday morning, I went to the hardware store to pick up a few cleaning supplies that outrank those that can be found at other stores. Let me tell you, even though I know that they have an extensive line of household cleaners, I was stunned to see how many more cleaning products they have added. You just might want to check into these also. Afterall, it is time for Fall housecleaning!

Though I normally would have been in and out of the store in 5 minutes or less, I wound up spending more than an hour there. That time flew by. Russ and Cathy (Marcy) Wiegers, the business' owners, gave me a great tour of the building! For instance, they have recently covered the ceiling in the portion of the building where tractors used to be sold, with bright and shiny tin. The Wiegers were not happy that nothing was covering the water stains so they opted to cover them. The results are awesome! The whole area is brighter and cleaner now. Have a look!

Through the past couple of years since they purchased the business, they have done a bunch of moving shelving, etc. At times, they have discovered some antiques that look brand new that had fallen behind the shelves years ago. For instance, they have an old washboard that looks BRAND-NEW! They found a large chalkboard that had a price tag of $2.11 on it. They also found the longest and biggest hammer I've EVER seen! That is saying a lot considering the fact that I grew up around the tools of Daddy's (Pat Elder's) construction company! Paul Bunyon would be thrilled to find that hammer! LOL!!! The Wiegers have moved all of these items up higher on the walls so that we can enjoy them. Awesome!

I already mentioned that they had moved their old office into a new office at the back of the building. It has been completed now and is in full operation. It towers over the room so that employees can see customers come in so that they can get to them sooner to see if they need any help with their shopping. It is quite attractive. The space where their former office was is now being used to display even more items.

More importantly is that MANY new products have been added to their store. With Christmas just around the corner, I made a list of things that they sell that I thought you might be very interested in. Here are just a few!

Electric spotlifters for carpetting and upholstery

Vacuums

Shop-Vacs

Bissell carpet shampooers (These are the kind that heat the water)

Hamburger presses

Meat cuber/tenderizers

Heavy Duty food slicers

Grinders

Nice pan sets

Individual pots and pans

Kitchen Aid small appliances

Sunbeam kitchen appliances

Small and large Traegger Grills that use pellets instead of wood or charcoal

A great assortment of deluxe spice racks that come FULL of spices already!

Very soon, new jewelry that would be great for stocking stuffers will be arriving!

They also brought in wonderful toys that educate children while they are playing. Many of these are made out of wood. Awesome! One is a ring stacker that I probably have never seen since I was a child--a very long time ago. They also sell block sets, toys that teach about shapes, good sized "paper" dolls that are not made out of paper. They, too, are made out of WOOD. So cool!!! The toys are also kept upstairs now.

They still sell great quality mattress sets. We purchased ours there at least 5 years ago and it is still just like new.

Years ago, Corningware products came out. Their baking dishes were fairly heavy and are, in a lot of cases, too heavy for some people to put in and pull out of ovens. No more is that a problem. The company has now come up with a MUCH lighter baking dish line. Western sells it too. They also sell the original type.

Recently, Cathy discovered a new company of stackable and collapsable products for carrying food to other locations. They are made by Progressive. These are slick products. One that they have in stock holds a 9" x 13" pan on the bottom and then has an egg tray on the layer on top! Awesome!

They just added stylish kitchen towel sets to their inventory. They have some window valances in stock also.

There are some neat smaller cactus too. Many of these bloom.

For the man who works outdoors, Wrangler, Dicky and Key outerwear are available. They also sell Bogs Boots that are insulated and waterproof.

Western theme billfolds and purses are also for sale.

They also have a good selection of clocks on hand.

Are decorative chickens something you enjoy? I like them! Western Hardware sells some beautiful chickens.

I encourage you to drop into Western Hardware soon! They sell something for everyone! In addition to what I just mentioned, they sell everything else that a well-stocked hardware store would have. A person could complete ALL of his/her Christmas shopping right there! I think that you'll be amazed at the variety and quality of all that they offer. If you don't see something that you are interested in, let Russ or Cathy know. They'll do their best to find it for you!
