Crafts, quilt show, parade. It's a big deal!



CORN MAZE/PUMPKIN PATCHES
Just Google corn maze or pumpkin patch plus a nearby town and it's likely you'll find something fun to do! Here are three examples of corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and much more fun:


Kansas Maze, Gaeddert Farms, 13209 E. 82nd Ave., Buhler
Through October 30, Friday, 6-9:30 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 2-9:30 p.m. Admission fee.


Walter's Pumpkin Patch, 1001 NW U.S. Hwy. 77, Burns
Through October 31, Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday 1-7 p.m. Admission fee.

FARM CITY DAYS, Iola
October 13-16


2011 will mark the 40th annual celebration of Farm City Days. This festival started with a group of local businesses and farmers joining forces to educate each other on what it took to work in their respective enviornments. Each year there was a tour of a local farm and a business. After several years, the tours gave way to a festival!

Farm City Days is one of Iola's largest events. We host vendors from all over Kansas that come to display their products and services!


PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Waterville
October 15, 7:30 p.m.
Bill Shaffer of KTWU will host the original 1925 silent movie, Phantom of the Opera in this historic opera house featuring live organ music. Complimentary wine and cheese will be served. Tickets at the door, $10. Afterwards, with RSVP, take a haunted rail ride on the historic Central Branch rails! Contact Sandy at 785.363.2515.




VOICES FROM THE PAST, Blue Rapids
Sunday, October 16, 4-6 p.m.
The Blue Rapids Museum is sponsoring a "Voices from the Past" walk in Fairmont Cemetery, 2nd and East Avenue. Re-enactors will speak from their grave telling their story and Blue Rapids history. A soup supper and short train rides will be available following. $5.

Free will offering soup supper at the community center from 5-7:30 p.m. Then, historic rail rides at 6, 8, and 9 p.m. Call 785.363.2515 for reservations.

GET TO KNOW LIBERAL!
Kansas Explorer #130 Lidia Hook-Gray has written a book called "Liberal and Seward County." Order from Arcadia Publishing. Book price is $21.99. Almost all of the 120 pages have two photographs plus a caption of explanation. It's a very pleasant study of the 2011 Kansas Sampler Festival host!
