Joyce has had a good day today! I need to explain about her feeding tube. It is not the type that is surgically implanted directly into the stomach. Instead, liquid nutrition runs directly into Joyce's picline which once there, goes throughout all of her blood veins and into the organs. Right now, Joyce's stomach is just not up to par.
Just in case you do not know what a picline is, it is more like a semi-permanent IV. To my knowledge, they are usually installed in the shoulder area. Nutrients, medications, etc are placed directly into this tube which then sends it throughout all of the blood veins. By using piclines, blood veins are not damaged and/or weakened by IVs. Some piclines are put into place where they will be used for just a few days. Others are put there to work for many months such as when chemotherapy, etc is necessary.
I continue to ask for your prayers for Joyce as well as for her family and friends.
JoAnne, thank you soooooo much for keeping me updated on what is going on with our dear, sweet Joyce!!! There are many people out there who love Joyce very much.
