Arthur V. Jones, age 94, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born January 30, 1917 in Deerfield, Kansas the son of Charles D. and Maude Phillips Jones. He was a farmer and rancher and had been a lifetime Southwest Kansas resident.

He was a member of the Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville, Kansas and was a WWII US Army Veteran.

On June 5, 1941 he married Velma Zick in Garden City, Kansas. She died May 5, 1980 in Garden City, Kansas. Then on August 5, 1983 he married Maxine Bratcher Jones in Crested Butte, Colorado. She survives.

Other Survivors Include: One Daughter, Karen (& John) Walker of Ingalls, Kansas; Two Grandsons, Ty (& Quinn) Walker of Garden City, Kansas and Travis (& Kristin) Walker of Springfield, Missouri; Two Granddaughters, Tamara (& Joe) Frescatore of Killeen, Texas and Terra (& Jeremy) Simon of Pierceville, Kansas; One Step-Daughter, Marian Mason of Garden City, Kansas; Two Step-Grandsons, Cole Mason of Garden City, Kansas and Phil (& Emily) Mason of Duncan, Oklahoma; Two Step-Granddaughters, Leah (& Brandon) Lorimor of Garden City, Kansas & Traci (& Orlando) Martinez of Wichita, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by Two Brothers, Harold “Whimpy” and Charles Jones and a Step-Son, Terry Clark.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Pierceville Federated Church with Rev. Terry Major presiding.

Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm on Thursday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

The family requests memorials be given to the Church or to the Honor Flight Program both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
