Sworn In

Last night was the night when some representatives of our City government exited their posts and others took over in their places. Laura Bishop-Medina decided not to run for re-election as mayor this past election. She served the people of Leoti for quite some time. Lori Elder-Christensen ran for her post and was elected. Councilman Roger Porter lost his bid for his position this time and Tony Hernandez took his place.

I would like to say "Welcome aboard" to Lori and Tony! I am sure that they will do a great job in their new roles of the often thankless tasks at hand. At the same time, I will miss Laura and Roger as they vacate their positions. I, for one, have really appreciated decisions that they have made in the past and the work that they did to keep Leoti floating right along. Both are good people and did all that they found to be the best at what the citizens of Leoti had appointed them to do.

Now, it is up to the rest of us to support the entire council that is now composed of the following people: Lori, Rick Gilmore, Cheryl Green, Melodee Hoffer and Tony. The new council will do an extraordinary job for all Leotians also. I have complete faith in each and every one of these fine people! A new member of the council will be chosen soon to fill the vacated position that Lori left when she was elected mayor.

Congratulations to Lori and Tony!!!
