David M. Olivarez, age 63, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on May 4, 1948 in Alice, Texas the son of Adan and Elma Mungia Olivarez. David had been a resident of Garden City since January of 2011 and he had worked as an auto body painter and mechanic.
He was a member of the Catholic faith.
In 1964, he married Belinda Ortiz. She died on October 4, 2008.
Survivors Include: Six Sons, Carlos Olivarez of Hutchinson, Kansas, Danny Vela of Chicago, Illinois, David O. Olivarez of Garden City, Kansas, Steven Olivarez of Garden City, Kansas, Jeffrey Olivarez of Dodge City, Kansas and Roy Olivarez of Larned, Kansas; One Daughter, Vanessa Olivarez of Garden City, Kansas; His Father, Adan Olivarez of Alice, Texas; One Brother, Oscar Olivarez of Bryan, Texas; Twenty-Seven Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and One Brother, Eloy Olivarez.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
There will be no calling times.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Texas.
The family requests memorials be given to the David M. Olivarez Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
