Leoti's Veterans Day Parade

This wonderful parade was held on Friday. It started at the museum and ended at the 4-way stop. I urge you to go to www.leoti.info/ to see the pictures of this parade and the reception that was held immediately after it at the museum. I would like to thank all of the people who organized this. I hope that this will be the start of a new tradition in our county. I was not able to attend any of this because I was at a doctor's appointment. I am very happy that Mr. Ellis Rewerts was there and took some great pictures of it! Thank you, Ellis! You do such a GREAT service to our community by spending a great deal of time and energy putting our local events on film!

Wichita County has had a great deal of men and women who have sacrificed much to keep this great country of ours safe and strong. Some have given the ultimate sacrifice. To all of these people, I say a great big than you! In our particular family, my grandparents, Roy and Helen (Graham) Elder, had 12 children. All six of their sons were only too happy to join the armed forces. Fortunately, all six of them returned home after their tours had been completed. The six girls who were left at home, did all that they could do by doing whatever work needed to be done to help the efforts that their brothers were doing overseas. To me, this is a great source of pride that I have in all of them.
