William Samuel Engler--Garden City

(March 8, 1918 - November 11, 2011)

William Samuel Engler, age 93, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Villages of Jackson Creek Nursing Home in Independence, Missouri. He was born on March 8, 1918 in Finney County, Kansas, the son of Max C. and Bessie M. Altus Engler. Bill was a farmer and had been a lifetime Garden City resident.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Garden City, Kansas.

On December 28, 1939, he married Margaret P. Moody in Garden City, Kansas. She survives.

Other Survivors Include: One Daughter, Charlotte (& Robert) Ziemer of Larned, Kansas; Two Sons, William (& Judith) Engler of Garden City, Kansas and Terence “Terry” (& Brenda) Engler of Independence, Missouri; One Sister, Neada (& Jim) Wheatley of Garden City, Kansas; Six Grandchildren, Twelve Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, One Sister, Maxine Engler and Four Brothers, Max, Herman, Duane & Ronald Engler.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Assembly Of God Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Terry Engler and Rev. Arnold Wheatley presiding.

Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

Visiting hours will be from 10:00am-8:00pm on Monday with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00pm@ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Emmaus House in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
