Water Rates

Many people in Leoti have been angered over the rising costs of our water. I did some research on the matter and wanted to pass it on to all of you. Personally, I was very encouraged by what I learned!

Until this recent rate change, Leotians were paying $18.38 for every 2,000 (two thousand) gallons. The new rate is just $30.00 for 5,000 ( five thousand) gallons. When those rates are broken down, it means that originally, we have paid out $45.95 for using 5,000 gallons. Today, we are just paying an extra $4.05 for using 5,000 gallons. That price hike is not that major when you stop and figure it out.

Soon, after the winds come down, many of us will be returning to the great outdoors. A good portion of us enjoy our green grass and plenty of fresh flowers, etc in our gardens. If you are concerned about your water bill, start using mulch in your gardens to keep your plants moist longer. Pay more attention to your watering habits. Don't just let your water run down the street gutters. Don't overwater either.

If you have any questions about the rates that I posted here, etc., call the Leoti City Hall at 375.2341. That is where I got my information!
