I just want to remind everyone out here in Western Kansas that we need to be very aware of the deer population that live near roads and highways. I recommend that we drive at nights with our high beamed headlights turned "ON". For the past couple of months, I have noticed a bunch of dead deer in the ditches. I am sure that no more deer are dying due to impacts with automobiles than before. We just notice it more now since State cutbacks have gone in to effect. No more do we have Kansas State employees out there whose sole job is to pick up the dead bodies from the road ditches and haul them off. Now, we are dependant upon wildlife and time to decompose these bodies.
