The wind has been just terrible all Spring long. Tree branches have been falling all over town. A good portion of Leoti's wooden fences are not strong enough to stand up to the wind. They have broken and fallen to the ground. Shingles are flying off of the roofs. And now, the wind has gone to work on newly planted flowering and vegetable plants. If you have just planted gardens and/or new shrubs and trees, you'll probably need to water them very well in the mornings and in the evenings. Otherwise, they will probably die. I have heard that by the end of this week, 100 degree temperatures will make their appearance in Western Kansas. If that is the case, chances are that you may need to water more often.
