Abigayle and I just returned from a trip to the Leoti Cemetary. I was shocked at the difference between today's cemetary and that of the cemetary in recent years. In other years, M-A-N-Y flowers, both fresh and not-so-fresh, were laid at the graves of loved ones. People came from far and wide to honor their loved ones who have gone before them. This year, in comparison to other years, VERY few memorial gifts were left. We saw no headstones that were covered by flowers today. As a matter-of-fact, many of the graves had not one flower anywhere near them.
I am confident that the reason for this is the high cost of gasoline. Many of us only felt like we could afford to put out flowers on graves that are located nearby.
