Weather Underground's Director of Meteorology, Dr. Jeff Masters, has a blog that is open to the public. Go there anytime and read up on the highlights of the current state of the Arizona, etc wildfires.
While you are there, you will see that the smoke, heat and air pollution caused by the wildfires are making their way through large portions of New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Nebraska. Just horrible! We are noticing some of this here in Western Kansas.
