Unless you have been hiding out under a rock or something, you know that millions of disposable plastic bags are used every day to cart home groceries, etc from the store. For the past several years, we have been learning just how bad these are for our environment. Consumers have been asked to carry empty cloth bags to the store to carry their groceries home in instead of these plastic bags.
Recently, some great friends of ours ordered a scanner for their computer. It arrived today. The part arrived in a cardboard box. When they opened it, instead of finding plastic wrapped around the scanner, they discovered that the part had been placed in a reusable fabric shopping bag. I was really impressed with that idea! This was the first time that either Stan or I had heard of this. The people who bought the scanner are now looking forward to using this bag every time that they go to the grocery store, etc. Imagine just how many plastic bags will not turn up at the sanitary landfills just by using that one particular bag!
Just another one of those things that I was so impressed with that I wanted to pass it on to all of you!!!
